Star Media Group drops publication after just 10 months due to lack of ad revenue

Well, that was fun while it lasted. After just 10 months of publication, Star Media Group will stop distributing The Onion satirical newspaper and the AV Club Toronto arts and culture weekly will close both in print and online. City Editor (and occasional Toronto Standard contributor) John Semley confirmed on Twitter that the last print issue will be released Thursday July 26 and the last online content will be posted Friday July 27th. He told Torontoist that he was not sure how long the site would remain online, but did not expect the archives to remain available on an ongoing basis.
