BITE: Just One…
For those freaks who can satisfy a sweet craving with a just a mini cupcake (or two)

Sometimes you just need one bite. I can’t relate but I hear this from a lot of people who can satisfy a sweet craving with just one or two bites of dessert.

Bite Bar caters to those people with their (very) mini cupcakes and desserts. The sweets are smaller than what you would get in a mini muffin tin. In fact, the cupcake tins were custom made to actually be half the size of a mini muffin (which is more like two bites. To some people). Open since March of this year on Elm Street not far from the Eaton Centre, Bite Bar is a mini dessert and cocktail bar. This is the kind of place that caters to those who want to go out and grab a cocktail or tea and have a little something sweet on the side. Many of the cocktails come garnished with a mini cupcake. It’s really hard to beat a two-in-one cocktail and dessert combination.

Nisha Amin-Agnihotri, the founder of Bite Bar, tested out her desserts at events and was repeatedly told by customers that they often just wanted a little bite without gorging on high-calorie sweets. Priced at $1 for each mini cupcake, or a more realistic $5.50 for 6, you can sample some of Bite Bar’s most popular flavours including: the Bite signature cupcake with vanilla cake stuffed with raspberry puree and topped with a raspberry vodka buttercream.

Other popular flavours include the PB ‘n J (self-explanatory), and Coco Nuts (chocolate cake topped with coconut buttercream and toasted coconut).

Nisha is already planning for the busy holiday season with a special menu that will be available in November. This will include candy cane cheesecakelettes (mini cheesecakes, obviously) and wee chai-spiced shortbread cookies. You want one? I want ten. Everyone’s happy.

This is the one place where people are unlikely to complain about the miniscule size of their desserts. It’s the whole reason they come here.
