As we’ve documented before, the folks at Taiwan’s Next Media Animation are no stranger to the Rob Ford saga. Their latest video takes their creative and fantastical Ford imagination to the a higher dark, excessively morbid level.
This five-minute video is much like other NMA videos in its visually striking animiation and impressive verisimilitude-establishing small details (a CBCNews reporter makes an appearance), but this one is spectacularly creepy.
The video sees a post-2014 election loss Ford freefall into a world of divorce and disarray. Aiding in the unsettling peculiarities of the video is a heartrending light piano-playing score. The video features, amongst other disturbing images, an overweight and despondent Ford in a roach-infested motel. We won’t spoil the rest. Regardless of how you feel about Ford’s public image and recent behavior, this video imagines a story that none of us want to see. You almost wish they took the Tristan Gough route and aimed for comedy. Alas. View the video below.
