Reliable source tells us this creature was spotted at the site of interest
Attention Ross Gellers of the Internet! The planet’s oldest isolated water source was just discovered near Timmins, in northeastern Ontario. And if you think this news sounds boring, clearly you’ve never watched Planet Earth.
The water was discovered to contain methane and hydrogen – but apparently this kind of hydrogenated water is very conducive to the presence of life. Cue claps from the science world. Aquatic life has long been studied in realtion to extraterrestrial happenings, so this discovery may provide some clues on the origin of life on earth and beyond. Or it won’t. We’re not really sure.
UBC Professor Rosie Redfield commented: “It’s the kind of strange and alien that’s exciting to certain kinds of microbiologists.” You hear that? Not all microbiologists. Just some of them.
Your daily dose of science: Fulfilled!
