The Toronto “foodie” (yulchhh… hate that word, but you know what I mean) world is abuzz, y’all. The rumours been fluttering about for ages: Chef David Chang, of the famous famous famous (and delish) Momofuku chain of restaurants is going to open a Toronto location. Good ramen that doesn’t use Italian spaghetti noodles and where you don’t have to listen to Christian rock for an hour while you feast? Yes please!
So imagine the excitement when just yesterday New York Magazine posted an interview with Chang where he announced the opening date for his new house of Asian Godly Grub. Mark it on your calendar: July 28, 2012. Although if the interview’s any indication, it seems that Chang is a little less organized than he wishes, and the opening will no doubt be pushed into August.
More exciting news includes the fact that the restaurant will be next to the upcoming Shangri-Las Hotel, at University and Adelaide–and three levels, with three different concepts.
I’m salivating… Must wipe dripping saliva from mouth… Must, come September, find a way into exclusive TIFF parties so that I can try to get David Chang to make out with me (think of the feasting opportunities)…
