'Body Break' Duo to Get Big Break on Amazing Race Canada
"There's going to be a lot of great competitors out there and that's what we're really looking forward to!"

Remember last year when we announced that Body Break’s Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod would be auditioning for the Amazing Race Canada? Well they’re back, and they’re still smiling. The married couple have just been announced as contestants on the Canadian edition of the extremely popular reality show. You can watch the couple’s audition tape here to see just how long someone can hold a smile over some 90’s aerobics tunes. Someone really needs to make a looping gif out of that laugh

Joanne Smile Count: 10

Hal Smile Count: 11

Hal Grimace Count: 1, when Joanne reveals her age

“And I’m 54!”

The show’s executive producer seems thrilled about the couple’s participation in the series: “Certainly, the other teams have made it perfectly clear they want to kick their ass. And Hal and Joanne aren’t exactly spring chickens either. They’re getting on a little bit. They’re not exactly senior citizens, but they’re inching their way there. And we have some young bucks that think they can run faster. On the flip side, Hal and Joanne, they’re in good shape, those two. I wouldn’t want to arm-wrestle Joanne. She’d kick my ass,” he admits in an interview with CTV.

The show is coming to CTV on July 15, 2013.

Until next time, keep fit and have fun!
