Blogging has evolved from an indulgent pastime to a legitimate business, and what better way to cement that fact than with a free conference for bloggers. The Connecting Bloggers and Brands Conference is the first of its kind for Canada, which aims to connect bloggers with national brands so each side may learn about the other and how they can join forces to spread the good word of consumerism.

This blogging conference is sponsored by TELUS, Canada Beef Inc. and Chicken Farmers of Canada among others, and based on what Senior-Vice-President of Strategic Initiatives and Communications at TELUS, Andrea Goertz, says in the press release regarding parents seeking out moms’ and dads’ opinions of products before making a purchase, there seems to be a focus on parenting blogs. Regardless of the event’s sponsors though, the conference seeks bloggers of all varieties including travel, fashion, technology, and more.

The first Connecting Bloggers and Brands Conference will be on April 30 in Vancouver, and will be touring to Toronto, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, and Halifax in the following months. At the moment, dates for the subsequent cities remain TBD and will be planned based on blogger demand and variety based on forms submitted through their website. In terms of getting into the event when it reaches the city nearest you, forms requesting your blog’s URL, subject, and hits is required from which (based on Vancouver’s registration form) 100 bloggers will be chosen to attend the free event and potentially boost their blogging career. So, Toronto bloggers, if you want the conference and soon, you best start submitting them forms — especially male bloggers because for some reason they believe most bloggers are female.
