Today, the Winnipeg local community is praising a transit worker for his selfless act of kindness. Denise Campbell, a resident of Winnipeg, wrote about the heart-warming story on Community News Common, a crowd-sourced Winnipeg news site.
While on her daily commute to downtown Winnipeg, Denise’s bus driver stopped the bus he was driving, jumped out, and began talking to a man on the street. The man on the street, it turns out, was homeless and barefoot, and the bus’s passengers gasped as the driver gave the down-on-his-luck man the shoes he was wearing. After the driver returned to the vehicle, one of the passengers asked the driver why he had given the homeless man his shows, to which the driver responded that he couldn’t stand the thought of the poor man walking barefoot. Afterwards, according to Denise, not a single dry eye was left on the bus. [Community News Commons]
