Do Make Say Think: What We're Doing This Weekend (January 11-13)
Scratch your Hedwig and the Angry Inch itch or bask in Keanu's glory

January 10-26 Hedwig and the Angry Inch: Presented by Breathe.Feel.Love Theatre Company at the Drake Hotel Underground, this rock concert/musical tells the tragic tale of transexual lead singer, Hedwig and her band ‘The Angry Inch.’ The show is the company’s specialty, having toured it around Canada from 2010-2011.

January 11-13 The Wedding Co. Show: With over 100 of Toronto’s best wedding industry professionals all in one spot, planning couples (or hopeful singles) won’t want to miss the opportunity to meet with these trend-setting designers and artists, and maybe even hire one for their special day.

January 11-13 2nd Annual Toronto Tango Marathon: Strap on your dancing shoes, pack a bag, and say goodbye to your family for the weekend, because you’ll be dancing the tango non-stop for 3 days and 3 nights to the beats of live DJs at Dovercourt House.

January 11 – April 5 Woah. The Films of Keanu Reeves: Rejoice in the spectacular acting ability of Canadian actor, Keanu Reeves, with an eleven-film lineup at TIFF Bell Lightbox. You’ve likely seen most of them already, especially titles like Speed and The Matrix, but wouldn’t you like to see them on a big-screen again? Woah.

January 11 Candle Light March & Concert for Unity and Solidarity: An Idle No More event that starts at Queen’s Park, with the march taking participants to the concert at Revival Bar where a line-up of indigenous and allied artists will be performing. Be sure to bring candles!

January 11 Malaysian Bazaar: Held by the Malaysian Student Association at University of Toronto, this one-night event lets you immerse yourself in Malaysian culture through traditional food, drinks, dancing, and clothing. There are also souvenirs for sale, and we won’t tell your co-workers that you got them downtown and not on your Asian vacation.

January 12-20 Toronto International Boat Show: Not only is it Canada’s largest boat show, but it features the world’s largest indoor lake for boaters so if you like to see the biggest version of things, this event’s for you.

January 13 CBC Live on the Road: Meet the stars of your favourite CBC shows at Sherway Gardens, including cast members from Dragon’s Den and Murdoch Mysteries. Strike a pose on their pop-up red carpet to feel like a star yourself, or take a seat at the CBC news anchor desk and report on a story you made-up on the spot.

January 14-18 Rookie of the New Year: Try something new this year! Uniiverse is a platform that encourages collaborative living and they’re bringing in the new year by focusing on many people’s resolution to start a new activity or learn a new skill. Workshops varying from yoga to silkscreening to molecular gastronomy have been scheduled around the city, and will be taught by Toronto-based experts.
