Do Make Say Think: What We're Doing This Weekend (Mar 22-24)
Loud motors, fun on wheels, and all about Canadian film, music, and comedy

March 19-24 Canadian Music Week Check out North America’s foremost convention focusing on the business of music, now in its 31st year. The event covers every aspect of the music biz from new media to songwriting, and has panels to get informed and performances to be entertained.

March 19-24 Canadian International Comedy Fest Part of Canadian Music Week, this event showcases some of the best comedians in the industry, including funny Canadians like Dave Foley and Jon Dore. Appearing at various venues around the city, each comedian has more than one performance so you’re sure to catch your favourite act.

March 20-23 Canadian Film Fest This non-profit organization is dedicated to lifting the status of Canadian-made movies by bringing them to the public accompanied by filmmaker Q&As, parties, and informative panels. The event covers all areas of Canadian filmmaking including both short and features films, as well as student films.

March 21-24 Yoga Conference & Show Amateurs and professionals alike are welcomed at this event for yoga lovers. Catch a class from a master yoga instructor, explore an exhibit, or learn ancient technique in one of the 150 workshops offered — there’s something for everyone at this yoga-fueled weekend.

March 21-24 A Taste of Iceland Celebrate Icelandic culture with food, entertainment, and art from the island — all while staying in Toronto. The Drake Hotel has dishes and drinks by successful Icelandic chefs and mixologists, the Hoxton features the music of Iceland, and you can catch a free film or art exhibit, all showcasing creatives from the area.

March 22-24 MegaSpeed Custom Car & Truck Show The coolest cars and most tricked out trucks will be on display at the International Centre for auto lovers to oggle. The show features over 600 cars and 300 exhibitors, and there’s even a Zoo to You booth that has over 30 kinds of exotic animals for the kids (or just for you).

March 23 Toronto Earth Hour Event WWF is celebrating this year’s Earth Hour in Roncesvalles Village with a community lantern walk, followed by candlelight and free outdoor live musical performances, all hosted by the CBC’s Garvia Bailey.

March 23 Monster Energy Supercross It’s loud, there’s dirt, and there are off-road motorcycles racing, jumping, and wiping out all for your viewing pleasure! This is the only Canadian date for the event where you won’t want to miss motocross champion Ryan Villopoto defending his title less than 7 months shy of the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas.

March 23-24 Quad City Chaos This is the first WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) tournament in Canada. The round robin tournament this weekend lasts two days and features teams from Toronto, Ohio, Ottawa, and Buffalo, all competing to better their WFTDA rankings. Be sure to root for the gals of CN Power!

March 24 – April 24 Hot Docs 20 Now in its 20th year, this festival has 20 documentary films for you to watch and learn from over the next month — 19 have already been chosen, with the last one to be determined by audiences and fans. The rooster of docs includes past award-winners, audience favourites, and the best of previous Festivals.
