What do you mean I can’t blast “Love On Top” from my boombox?
Starting July 15, if you’re travelling on the upper-level of a GO train between 6-9:30 AM and 3-7:00 PM, you’ll have to keep it down. The Quiet Zone program is being tested system-wide after a trial run on Barrie routes. “Based on our initial pilot, I feel confident this will be an ongoing feature,” Mary Proc, VP Customer Service told the Toronto Star. “To most GO riders their trip is me-time, and we want to make that me-time as comfortable as possible.” Apparently they’re nice too – 83% of commuters reported that they contributed to a more comfortable commute.
But rules are made to be broken, and if you’re half the hooligan we are, you’ll take the opportunity to cause a ruckus (if the creepy talking windows don’t do it first).
