Canadian superhero 'Northstar' proposes to his longterm beau in Astonishing X-Men's groundbreaking new comic

In Astonishing X-Men #50, Jean-Paul Beaubier, aka Northstar, a Canadian mutant endowed with superhuman speed and flight, proposes to his mortal boyfriend Kyle Jinadu, making history in the comic industry.

Set for release on June 20th, the next issue will feature the devoted pair’s wedding, making it the first gay marriage in a mainstream superhero comic.

Northstar and his beau have been together since 2009, and though their post-marital fate remains unknown, comic fans and gay rights activists alike are marveling at this groundbreaking new storyline.
