The Replacements Reunite to Play Riot Fest at Fort York
First live performance since 1991 will come this August in Toronto

I don’t think you even know how major this is. Do you even know who the The Replacements are?!

These bad-ass punk pioneers were permanently banned from SNL for being wasted on national television and were true punks in every sense of the word. Now they’re getting back together at this year’s Riot Fest, happening August 24-25 at Fort York. The outdoor music festival features carnival rides, a huge ferris wheel and bands like Best Coast, The Weakerthans and Iggy and the Stooges. Even if The Replacements were before your time*, they’re critically acclaimed live performers, and are worth your hard-earned dollars, if not for street punk cred.

Tickets are on sale now, starting at $35.98 for Saturday, $49.98 for Sunday and $69.98 for the whole weekend. Check out the whole line-up here

And to save you the work, here’s a quick intro to what The Replacements are all about:

*Full disclosure: The Replacements were well before my time, so all of this indignance is purely satirical.
