Bored to death on a Sunday? Looking for something to do between brunch and Breaking Bad? Well, you’re in luck. The Drake Hotel is offering Sunday Lobster Fare every week this summer.
The deal includes a mouth-watering menu of one pound lobster, grilled corn, herb + butter potatoes, coleslaw, biscuit, hot butter + shortcake for dessert complete with a bottle of Keith’s all for just $32 (plus tax + gratuity). Plus you get to eat it all on the Drake’s cool rooftop Sky Yard. Bring a friend, watch a YouTube tutorial on how to eat a lobster beforehand, and have yourself a scrumptious seafood Sunday.
The special menu is available exclusively by reservation, so drop the Drake a line to book your spot or call 416.531.5042 ext.1.
As a special treat, the Drake’s chefs have shared the recipe for their Monterey Jack biscuits (they’re amazing, trust us). Happy baking!
A:
8 cups flour
¼ cup baking powder
2 tbs salt
2 tsp cayenne pepper
Pinch of black pepper
B:
3/4lbs garlic butter
C:
4 cups grated jalapeño Monterey Jack cheese
D:
4 cups buttermilk
1. In a large bowl combine contents of A together.
2. Cut B into A using a grater and break into pea sized pieces, combine well.
3. Add C into flour mixture, and mix.
4. Add buttermilk to mixture and work with hands until dough begins to form. Be sure to not over work.
5. Transfer to a floured surface and roll to 1″ thickness.
6. Cut into desired size and place on parchment lined baking sheet.
7. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, about 10 – 15 minutes. Be sure to rotate pan half way through baking process.
8. Remove from oven and brush with melted garlic butter.
9. Serve and enjoy, or let cool and store in an air tight container.
