Taste of the Danforth is back, and it’s a’gonna bring a whole lotta’ tzatziki. The festival is the stuff of myths, and is basically just a whole 2.5km strip with amazing Greek food. The festival attracts around 1.3 million visitors each year, and keeps visitors there with a smorgasbord of events ranging from tasting tables, to live shows, to the World’s Largest Greek Yogourt Bowl.
What are we most excited for? ABBAmania of course! Let your genuine or campy sensibilities allow you to groove to the sounds of an ABBA cover band for the festival’s closing ceremonies on Sunday, August 11th at 6:15PM. And in case you’re wondering, the ABBA musical Mama Mia! was set in Greece (fine, I’ve seen it), hence the Danforth-connection.
The festival kicks off this evening, August 9th and carries on until Sunday, August 11th.
