Derek Whibley and girlfriend Ari Cooper dressed as Lavigne and Kroeger

You’ve hit rock bottom when you get publicly owned by Nickelback.

For a very meta Halloween, Sum 41 singer Deryk Whibley dressed as his ex-wife Avril Lavigne while out with his current girlfriend, Ari Cooper. Cooper, who obviously has a good sense of humour, dressed as Lavigne’s new husband, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.

After a picture of the couple made its way to the internet, Kroger responded by writing this on Nickelback’s official Twitter page:

“Hey Deryck loved the costumes! we were going to dress up as you guys this year but all the parties had celebrity themes haha! —CK”

Burn! We’re giving this one to team Chavril.
