The internet is full of stuff that annoys me. From cats (your cat is only funny to you), to cupcakes (why would I want a small cake when I can have a full-sized cake?) and LMFAO (stop), I've had a million moments where I maniacally yell at my computer screen. So, when Tumblr started to take off recently, I rejoiced. There are a lot blogs that I hate (but other people love) out there. Suddenly, with Tumblr, blogs started popping up everywhere that revolved around hating the blogs that I hate (but other people love). It was great to finally become a part of a community of haters without having to post on 4chan.
Amy Wood's snarky new blog We're More In Love Than You Are fits nicely into the category of hate that I like to call "why do people post intimate personal photos everywhere on the internet?!!!????" Looking specifically at the plethora of (professional-looking) engagement photos that have found their way onto Pinterest, Wood selects the twee-est and vomitiest and adds Tweet-sized captions. Prime example: "We stopped kissing just long enough to press send on this email but we totally started kissing again right after."
We asked Wood what her own future engagement photo would look like, and here's her reply.
"I'm in a hot air balloon filled with 100 fluffy kittens and clouds photoshopped into the shape of hearts. And somehow we would also have to be on old-timey vintage bikes. Maybe the bikes are powering the hot air balloons (this will be an overtly eco-conscious shoot, of course). On second thought, maybe the kittens are in our bike baskets, inside the hot air balloon. He would also somehow have to be playing a ukulele and holding a bouquet of daisies. And preferably be Ryan Gosling."
Consider the date saved, Amy.
