Found Objects: Roses by the Dozen
The flowers are dead and gone, but florals are forever.

Roses are red and snow makes us blue. With the serious onset of winter, it’s time to start thinking about spring immediately. Since flowers make basically everything better, here are some fine, floral-inspired objects to bring us into the New Year and tide us over until May.

1. It’s not new, but we still love Sloane Crosley’s I Was Told There’d Be Cake—and its almost deceptively pretty cover.

2.Get petal-soft lips with this Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment(at Sephora, $26).

3.View the world through rose-printed glasses? They’re by Erdem, no less, for Cutler and Gross Silk ($600 at Cutler and Gross, 84 Yorkville Ave.)

4.Ring this local, not-just-decorative bell for any reason, or none at all ($8, at The Drake General Store, 114 Queen St. West).

5. A head of roses (plus a few thorns). Lara Vincent makes crowns like this and sells them at Lavish & Squalor, Magic Pony, and Betsey Johnson.

6. A serving tray from the Dollar Store in Dufferin Mall. Seriously!

Katie Merchant finds objects for the Toronto Standard and blogs for herself at thank you, ok.
