Perspex, a clear plastic that can be found in hardware stores, has crept its way into the fashion scene and onto the bodies of loyal fashion lovers worldwide.

This versatile material was seen on the runways of Dries Van Noten, Fendi, Stella McCartney, Givenchy and many more.

Once used only for stripper shoes and children’s jewelry, these designers have created gorgeous and delicate pieces that have completely changed my opinion on this otherwise ‘tacky plastic’ (as I’ve called it) material.

So I present the evidence and let you decide where you stand in the case of clear Perspex: A tacky, fleeting fad or a must-have material?
