I had planned for there to be some variety to the ideas I release into the wild. It’s too easy to focus on just a few topics and narrow my scope too much and I’ve got lots of ideas about lots of things. I don’t want to get pegged as a one-trick pony. Or any kind of pony, actually. No calling me pony at all.
Which makes me hesitant to post a second consecutive food idea right out of the gate. But laziness is my motivating factor and I can’t be bothered to think of a non-food idea that’s better right now.
But to the idea: I know some people. And some people who know people. Smoked meat people AND potato chip people. Zane Caplansky, if you’re not too busy preparing for your appearance on Dragon’s Den, let’s talk about smoked meat potato chips, shall we?
Someone else feel like whispering in Galen Weston’s ear? “It’s easy. Some coriander, some pepper. Dry mustard. Beef bouillon powder. Liquid smoke. Or maybe smoked salt?” Plus something I’ve decided actually exists called vinegar powder. (Look at that – Idea #3: Vinegar Powder.)
I would totally buy these chips. We need to make this happen. Galen, make it so. Think of it as a celebration of Canadian flavours and release it next summer for Canada’s Biggest Barbecue or the 1000 Tastes of Canada. Done. Drop me a line, G2, and I’ll tell you where to send my cut of the millions I just made you.
Ideas Free to a Good Home is a clearinghouse of ideas we’re too lazy to develop ourselves.
