Enter Richard Feren and his newly minted @TOMayorTroy Twitter account.
Anyone that follows @TOMayorFrod is probably already familiar with Feren. He started the account more than two years ago to lampoon the city’s former mayor, and did so to great effect. However, he has now set his sights on the city’s new mayor.
Yes, I have denied the existence of #whiteprivilege, but only once, in one of my Ovaltine stupors. #TOpoli

Of course, making fun of John Tory presents a whole different set of challenges when compared to making fun of Rob Ford.
“With Rob Ford, I always thought he was a terrible person and his politics were terrible and he was terrible for the city. The satire was rooted in a kind of anger and disgust with him,” he said to Metro News.
“Whereas Tory doesn’t inspire the same kind of thing. He’s a wealthy, old-money guy. He doesn’t try to hide it or deny it like Doug Ford, but he’s tone deaf to certain kinds of inequality, like telling women they should learn to play golf or saying there’s no such thing as white privilege.”
I promise #Toronto a new kind of mayoralty. Reporters will be asking me to STOP answering questions. #ChairmanoftheBored #TOpoli

Feren has only sent out a couple of tweets since starting the account on Monday, which might have to do with the fact that Tory has been so reasonable since winning the election. Despite already having 640 followers to entertain, Feren promises to keep tweeting from his Rob Ford parody account, even if Ford was recently diagnosed with cancer.
“Frankly, I don’t have much sympathy for him,” Feren said. “He chose to run for office, and will be a sitting councillor. As a public figure, he’s still a fair target.”
