It appears the El Mocambo is finished
A farewell show looks to mark the end of the iconic Toronto venue.

For the time being, it appears the legendary Toronto music venue that once hosted the Rolling Stones is set to close for good.

Sam Grosso, the El Mocambo’s current owner, posted a message on Facebook announcing a farewell show for the venue. “its [sic] all coming to end and were [sic] going to finish off with a blowout of a show all for a good cause.”

The concert is taking place on November 6, and rather than taking place at the El Mo, it’s happening at the Hard Rock Cafe.

According to blogTO, the venue is set to become a computer shop—because all Spadina and College is missing is another store to purchase computer parts from, amirite?

No word yet on what will happen to the venue’s iconic sign, which was beautifully restored in 2012. [via blogTO]
