Tired of playing catch up with the Big Brother live feeds? Are three new Big Brother episodes a week not enough for you? Big Brother Canada will begin casting for its first season on Wednesday.
“I’ve never had so many people contact me about participating in a TV show in my entire career,” says John Brunton, the show’s executive producer, to the Toronto Star.
Possible contestants can apply online by submitting a short video, or by visiting one of five in-person casting calls across the country. In an effort to find diverse candidates, applicants are able to use their video to explain what would make them a desirable pick for the Big Brother house.
Though the show has not yet announced a host, the program is scheduled to start shooting near Toronto in 2013. Big Brother Canada, and Big Brother Canada: After Dark will air exclusively on Slice later that year, in partnership with Endemol, the franchise originator. Big Brother has now spread to 87 countries.
The Big Brother Canada casting call opens on Aug. 1, and will run until Oct. 16. Floaters, you better grab a life vest!
