DFA 1979 was never supposed to release a follow up to You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine. Ten years later, not only have they released a new album, The Physical World, they’re also about to start touring again.
If you missed seeing them play the first time around, or if you simply want to see them again, now is your chance.
DFA is headlining a show that is a part of Molson Canadian’s new Altered States Concert Series. It’s a music series that launched this summer with Metric and Mac DeMarco performing a joint show in Calgary’s Victoria Pavilion. The concept is simple: put two great Canadian bands in a unique setting and keep the affair exclusive. Another Altered States Concert Series show is set to go down in Montreal with brothers Alain and David Macklovitch—of A-Trak and Chromeo fame, respectively—bringing their collection of infectious dance songs to an old shipyard.
Unfortunately, you can’t buy a ticket to this show, and the wristbands that were being raffled away by Molson Canadian have since all been given away, which is where we come in. We have a single pair of wristbands to give away to one lucky Toronto Standard reader.
The show is taking place later this month in a “Toronto landmark” with the New Pornographers supporting. We’re sorry we can’t be more specific, but unfortunately that’s all we’ve been told so far.
To enter, all you have do is give us a “Like” on Facebook and enter through our giveaway page. That’s it! We’ll draw for a winner closer to the date of the concert and contact the lucky soul via email.
Best of luck!
