Here’s a bit of cool news from one of the city’s favourite local bands.
To celebrate the release of their latest album, Let’s Be Ready, on vinyl, The Wooden Sky is going on a short bicycle tour across Toronto this weekend. They’ll be hitting be local record shops Cabin Fever, Soundscapes and Kops at 2, 3 and 4 pm, respectively.
Each show is free, and open to all ages. Best of all, anyone that wants to hop on their bike and join the band on their bike ride is invited to do so. The incentive to join the band—besides chatting with some cool dudes—is that they’ll play a different set at each stop.
Part of the reason for the tour is to support Cycle Toronto’s #MinimumGrid petition, which launched last week on community website Avaaz. The local cycling advocacy group wants to get the city’s next mayor to commit to building 100 km of protected bike lanes and 100 km of residential bike boulevards by 2018.
