Tickets went on sale this morning for an appearance and talk by former U.S. Secretary of State and New York State Senator Hillary Clinton at Toronto’s Metro Convention Centre on June 20th to an audience of up to 6000 people.
The talk is part of the Unique Lives & Experiences North American Women’s Lecture Series that has in past brought speakers like author Jeannette Walls to Toronto and will see Jane Goodall, Sissy Spacek, and Dionne Warwick give talks in the coming weeks.
After stepping down in February from a successful four years as the U.S. Secretary of State, Clinton is currently regarded as the most popular politician in the United States according a Quinnipiac University Poll. 61 per cent of voters view her in a favourable light compared to 51 percent who feel similary about current president Barack Obama. Clinton has long been a defender of human rights and equality for women and has dedicated the past four decades of her life to public service. The 65 year old is now a favourite to run for president in the 2016 election, a possibility she has not yet ruled out.
