Toronto artist Sam Shuter‘s work
Project Art launches tonight at the Burroughes, and it looks like it’s going to be a rager.
The brainchild of co-founders Emma Tushinski, Ben Cowley, Matt Cohen, and Zac Cooper, the event aims to raise money for hollisitic cancer treatments at the Odette Cancer Centre. The team had a very personal motivation since Tushinski was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia nearly three years ago. In addition to a partnership with the Sunnybrook Foundation, the event’s other main goal is to showcase a number of local visual, performance, and musical artists.
Aside from my bias of writing this article, the event is looking pretty stellar. When you put together the venue (The Burroughs – The Standard’s home sweet home), the incredibly promising list of featured artists, and the already exciting guestlist, the event is sure to be one for the books. Plus, the cause certainly doesn’t hurt either.
Scroll down for some more images (yes, that’s Kendrick), and check out all of the featured artists, plus details for the event here. Or hey, why not cut straight to the chase and buy a ticket here?
