TO's best comedy fest returns September 19 - 28

JFL42 – Toronto’s best comedy festival – announced their first crop of performers this morning, including headliners Sarah Silverman, Aziz Ansari and something called Family Guy Live! After a successful first year with anchor act Louis CK, Just For Laughs’ Toronto affiliate has upped its game with three monster acts each guaranteed to draw a crowd. Last year JFL42 made our list of Funniest Things that Happened in Toronto, and in 2013 the fest looks set to repeat.

Comedy lovers have the choice of seeing one or all three (but not two) of the headliners. All passes come with four renewable credits to book seats at the other 42 “things” on offer. Passes range from $99 to $299 (plus service charges) for the VIP experience and go on sale this Friday at 10 am, although there’s a pre-sale that starts this afternoon at 3 pm. JFL42 runs September 19 to 28.

The slate of local acts announced so far is a who’s who of who’s funny on Canadian TV, including MTV Showtown‘s Graham Chittenden and Chris Locke (aka Cool Judge), Mark Little and Kyle Dooley (formerly?) of Picnicface, CBC‘s Daryn Jones, and Ryan Belleville, star of CTV‘s upcoming series Satisfaction.

Other acts announced so far include a powerhouse lineup of Andy Kindler, Anthony Jeselnik, Hannibal Burress, John Mulaney, Kyle Kinane, Janeane Garofalo, Marc Maron, Maria Bamford, and Sam Simmons.

See JFL42.com for details.
