The truly incredible thing here isn’t that I attended a dog fashion show last night. It’s that it wasn’t the first time. The second annual Paws for the Cause gala, which raises money for the Ontario Veterinary College’s Pet Trust Fund and helps the disenfranchised canines occupying Trinity-Bellwoods park, or something, went down last night at Airship 37. The vintage-vibey Distillery District venue morphed into a shiny, blue-lit runway room, reflecting a high ratio of fashion-world attendees: PR girls, style bloggers, fancy hairdressers. Perhaps related: a buffet table of beautiful desserts went largely untouched. Where are the dogs when you need them?
