Do Make Say Think (July 18-20)
Do Make Say Think is Toronto Standard's weekly weekend events preview.

Do

Retail shops and restaurants will be pouring out onto the street this weekend for Big on Bloor, the annual street festival that is part carnival and part market. Opening up Bloor to pedestrians from Dufferin to Lansdowne, B.O.B. is your opportunity to eat from local restaurants, shop boutiques and catch some street performances. Bloor Street (between Dufferin and Lansdowne), July 19-20, 12PM Free

Make

Make your stomach hate you this Saturday because Thrill of the Grill is on and it’s only $15 to eat, drink and be merry. Celebrity chefs will sound off in a barbecue competition and large companies will compete in a Corn Roast Throwdown. The cover charge gets you ribs, corn, liquor and beer samples, as well as access to dozens of giveaways. Broadview and Jackman Avenues, July 19, 12PM $15

Say

Just in case you thought Toronto was running out of festival ideas, now you’ve got TIME. TIME Festival 2014 is a one day music showcase of upcoming international indie music. With Death Grips splitting up and rumours of Charli XCX dropping out, the original scheduling has shifted, but there are still several great acts, including St. Lucia, Haerts, and, of course, headliner Grimes still set to perform. Tickets are available through Ticketweb. Fort York Garrison Commons (100 Garrison Road), July 19, 12PM $35

Think

Christie Pits Film Festival is nailing it with their summertime film picks this year and Sunday is no exception. Stand By Me play in the park this weekend following two short films, as always. Food vendors will be on site (did someone say donuts?) and giveaways are always a plus. Arrive around 7:30PM to grab a prime spot on the hill. Christie Pits Park (779 Crawford Avenue), July 20, 7:30PM Free
