Who will be the first to get their hands on their very own GoogleGlass before they’re made available for to the general public? Don’t get too excited. According to a ZDNet report, Google has started to announce the winners of their #GlassExploers contest. Winners will have the chance to purchase a $1500 pair of the first batch of glasses to be manufactured within the next few weeks in Santa Clara California, by Foxconn, the same company behind manufacturing the iPhone.
Contest participants were asked to share what they would do given the opportunity to get their hands on a pair of the glasses before everyone else. So far, winners include someone who proposed filming their wedding, one person who plans to make the “first truly first person” POV action movie (umm hello, did we forget a little motion picture called DOOM?), and a DJ who would film his performances live. These uses seem lack-luster to us, so we hope the full list of winners, which can be found via a twitter search of #glassexplorer, will reveal some more enlightened uses for the new gadget.
