Thousands of Bees Swarm Union Station Construction Site
Toronto Standard has some *ahem* exclusive images

It’s that time of year again, when Union Station becomes the set for a B-horror flick. Last year, heavy rain and some clever photoshop work turned a Union Station flood into a Jaws sequel, among other vignettes. This year, the construction site was abuzz with a real-life swarm of bees, the swarm of which was so intense that it resulted in halted construction for a number of hours.

Bee experts are not concerned, citing the incident as a healthy sign of the colony’s reproduction cycle. The swarm supposedly follows their Khaleesi-bee outside of the hives to make room for incoming larva. The bees were residents of the Honey Moon Suite atop the Fairmont Royal York hotel, which produces around 200 kilograms of honey per year.

Toronto Standard was lucky enough to be at the scene, and managed to snap the following images:

Killing him will never bring back your damn honey!
