In non-royal-baby-related UK news, the sovereign state will soon require all households to actively request clearance to access internet porn. The filter will be implemented before “the end of next year” (2014) on existing computers, and will come preinstalled in all technologies with internet capability, including mobile phones. While UK Internet Service Providers will be responsible for enforcing the block, it has not been announced how adults will be able to override the filter — though they will be. According to the Daily Mail, UK residents will “have their access to online porn blocked unless they ask to receive it.”
In addition, all pornography simulating or presenting scenes of rape will be banned online, in-print, and in-stores. Further, adult content will be blocked from all public wi-fi.
Prime Minister David Cameron added, “I’m not making this speech because I want to moralise or scaremonger, but because I feel profoundly as a politician, and as a father, that the time for action has come. This is, quite simply, about how we protect our children and their innocence.’
