The house of Wintour has declared West Queen West one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world.
The Toronto hotspot beat out other illustrations neighbourhoods like New York’s Bushwick and L.A’s Silver Lake to take the number two spot on the list. “Toronto is currently enjoying newfound prominence—and desirability—amongst globe-trotting tastemakers,” says the online only article.
The publication gave special praise to women’s fashion boutique Bicyclette, calling it “charming.” Anyone that’s visited and shopped Bicyclette will likely agree that the praise is richly deserved.
While some might question signalling out West Queen West as Toronto’s hippest neighbourhood—after all, several neighbourhoods have sprung up to challenge Queen West—I think we’ll all agree that any recognition this city receives well deserved and much appreciated.
The full list can be seen on Vogue’s website.

Update: This article mistakenly said Vogue declared Queen West as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world. In reality, the magazine gave that honour to West Queen West, the stretch of Queen West that runs from Bathurst to Gladstone. We regret this egregious error.
