At the rate this city is going, Toronto may never build subway stops to neighbourhoods like Parkdale or Roncesvalles, but thanks to a fun project by a local designer, it’s now know possible to imagine what those stations might look like if they were ever built.
The images seen above and below were created by Jon Toews. He’s been uploading them to his Instagram account over the past week, and taking suggestions for future station over on the Reddit thread he created to show of his work.
While it’s easy to see how each of Toews’ fake stations is indebted to one of its real-life counterparts, there’s also a designerly element to each one that one doesn’t see in many of the city’s real stations.
