Andrew Roti (née Andrew Rennie) likes rap. No, he loves rap. We’re not talking about that throw-your-hands-up-because-I’m-playing-“Juicy“-by-Biggie-Smalls stuff, we’re talking about the new shit, like trolling World Star Hip Hop, getting excited about Meek Mill’s new tape on Datpiff, and turning it up when Clinton Sparks plays “I’m On One” not once but twice in a row. He’s been part of the successful Lick a Shot and Get Throwed party series, and guest-DJed at a wide range of Toronto venues over the years.
His StandardTape is a mix of tracks from 2011, which synthesizes his love for obscure Southern rap and mindless crowd favourites. (Throw your hands up for that.)
