LCBO's Steampunk-Styled 'Gentleman's League Configurator' is Extraordinarily Bad
Everything you never wanted in a website designed to encourage men to stay in for a guys' night

The LCBO takes a stand against girls’ night in and makes it manlyand it’s about time. A new website aims to help men plan their guys’ nights in, complete with masculine drink mixes, through an interactive experience with a machine dubbed ‘the configurator’ that picks your poison for you. The online mechanism’s full name, which is completely original and not at all reminiscent of a less than loved movie with a similar title, is the Gentleman’s League Configurator so the website is all Victorian-era Steampunk all the time. Didn’t know that Steampunk had been deemed the epitome of masculinity by men everywhere? Now you do.

If you’d like a website to tell you what to get drunk on for a night in, be sure to start loading this one well before your pals come over because the nifty clickable buttons and handles on the configurator mean this baby takes ages to load. Then as you wait, the messages displayed on the homepage become progressively more awkward — as you can see above — so good news for those with slow internet connections and an aversion to five-dollar words like “heretofore.” Regardless, we’re sure men everywhere will be extremely thankful to the configurator for saving them from drinking beer when they stay in with friends, and if not the silly thing will be gone by February 3.
