Sometimes the Internet feels like a race in who can be the most cynical in the shortest amount of time. And sometimes, thankfully, unbridled joy triumphs. Today is a day for unbridled joy. Unless you haven’t looked at a computer in the last 12 hours, you probably already know that Beyonce blessed us with a new album in the dead of night, with nary a word to the press (or even the rumour mill) about its existence. The album is a beast of a production–there are 14 songs and 18 music videos–with features from her husband Jay Z, Drake, Frank Ocean, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, and her daughter, Blue Ivy (who’s building a nice nest egg of royalty money). ……Even casual Beyonce watchers are aware of how freakishly obsessed her fanbase (dubbed the “Beyhive”) is, and a curosry glance at her Instagram page proves how hard this surprise album has hit them. In honour of this day, December 13th, 2013, henceforth known as “Beyday,” we ranked the best comments on Beyonce’s Instagram page left by her fans. They laughed, they cried, they felt proverbial wigs get snatched. These comments were left on the album trailer, a picture of vegan cupcakes, and a snap of some celebratory cookies.  Enjoy. …
