I read recently that it’s best not to get too philosophical in journalism. It’s best to keep everything simple, because journalism is about transmitting information in the simplest terms possible. It’s about sharing knowledge.
I disagree though. What’s wrong with being the next Tom Wolfe? Being cryptically challenged is good for your brain. Thus, I’ve decided I want to be happier in the way that Hitchcock is happy, which calls for complete creative freedom and separating one’s self from negative energies.
And so this column is becoming a strict poetry column, a perfect espousal of creative genius and breaking away from the status quo.
