The Real Food Manifesto at the 2011 Brewer’s Plate Toronto at the Whychwood Barns.
If you’re like us and you like the prospect of unlimited delicious local and sustainable food and beer, then this year’s annual Brewer’s Plate Toronto event, set to take place April 17th at the CBC (Barbara Frum) Atrium at 250 Front Street West, is for you.
Over 40 local chefs, brewers and artisans will be coming together for the event, the proceeds of which will be going to Not Far From the Tree, an organization of volunteers that help farmers and other local growers pick their produce with one third of the produce going to local food banks and shelters.
Confirmed chefs and artisans so far include Lora Kirk of Ruby Watchco, Brook Kavanagh of La Palette, Joseph Aaron Bear Robe of Keriwa CafĂ©, Wanda’s Pie in the Sky, Maple Dale Cheese, and more. Among the local brewers and vitners, look out for Beau’s, Neustadt Springs, and HogsBack Brewing, Applewood Farm Wines, and Thornbury Cider. The event will also feature live music and a silent auction.
Tickets are steep at $125 + a service charge, but tastings are unlimited and the event’s Facebook page is offering a contest to win 2 free tickets. Doors open at 6:15pm. Purchase your tickets here.
