Conrad Black knows how to make a comeback, and while it may not change your opinion of the fraudulent former head of Hollinger International, it promises to be entertaining (we totally called it by the way).
The Zoomer: Televison for Boomers with Zip is a weekly “one hour magazine show of current affairs and lifestyle for the 45 and up audience” brought to us by ZoomerMedia head Moses Znaimer. Viewers can catch the new program on VisionTV starting late this spring, assuming they can still find it on their basic cable service.
The 11-minute preview video on Zoomer’s site features all sorts of hilarious outtakes, from a staged Black doing yoga in his suit, to joking with TTC drivers about the 504’s missing business section. There’s also a segment on zoomer sex, including a look into “sex toys that are targeted at the zoomer demographic that are easier to open, to hold, to use,” and discussing the growing instance of STDs among the boomer generation. Brace yourselves younger viewers.
But it’s not all fun and games. Black also shares his thoughts on the legal profession in the United States, calling it “a cartel that legislates endless herniated masses of new laws and regulations” and insisting that Canada should not have an extradition treaty with this society lacking “just laws.” Whether you agree or not, it makes for suprisingly compelling television. The show may be geared towards boomers, but we’re guessing it’s going to be a hit with a much wider demographic.
