Didn’t get a chance to make it to SXSW this week? No matter, Canada’s own leading conference on all things digital, Mesh13, is set to come to the Allstream Centre in Toronto on May 15th and 16th. The conference, now in its 8th year, will bring industry and enthusiasts together with respected speakers from innovative startups to network and discuss how the evolution of the Internet is changing the way we live and work.
Media, marketers, entrepreneurs and everyday activists are invited to learn about the latest developments in digital from how to better manage your brand’s public image to web tools you can use to help start your businesses and power social change.
Toronto Standard is proud to be a media sponsor of the event, which will include interesting panel discussion on censorship and state-control, how the Internet is changing how we approach education, and workshops on the power of video as a medium and 3D printing.
This year the conference is also offering a number of opportunities for fledgling startup entrepreneurs to make the most of Mesh13 with the second installment of their Hosted Startup Program. With support from sponsors, the program allows Mesh to offer a number of up-and-coming leaders in the field the opportunity to attend and participate in the conference free of charge. Applications for this program are now open.
Mesh is also giving 20 new startups a chance to show off their wares at the conference’s Demo Alley and will be bringing a select few attendees up on stage to present the work their startups are doing to the whole conference. More information and a complete schedule of events and participants can be found here.
