Last week we wrote about our dissapointment with the first group of Google Glass contest winners to get their hands on the coveted new tech accessory. This week, thanks to Standford Student Adrej Karpathy, who hacked twitter’s API to put together a more detailed (if still partial) list of winners, we have a better look at the types of people who will be promoting Google Glass to the rest of us. On the celebrity front we have the likes of Neil Patrick Harris who’d like to use the glasses to show a day in the life on set at How I Met Your Mother, and Soulja Boy who had the mind bending idea of putting the glasses in his newest music video. Nothing like the promise of free advertising to win you free product giveaways.
But there were those who had slightly more altruistic plans for their new specs. Newt Gingrich endeared himself to us by suggesting he’d use the glasses to take “tours of zoos and museums to share the animals and fossils,” and Alyssa Milano said she would use the glasses to document her humanitarian missions with Unicef.
For a more comprehensive compilation of winners and their plans see Karpathy’s list here.
