Rob Ford’s big day
Mayor Rob Ford will appeal a decision that orders him to be removed from office in court on Monday.
The mayor is contesting a November ruling which found he broke the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act by voting on an issue he had a personal and financial stake in at council, 680 News reports.
Ford will face a panel of three judges, and will make his case alongside an attorney. The trio may take up to four weeks to form their final decision, once the case is heard.
John Mascarin, a municipal lawyer, told 680 News that once a decision is made in the appeal, it will be final.
If Ford loses and the ruling stands, city council can choose to call a byelection, or appoint an interim mayor for the remaining 21 months on his term.
Advocacy group: fund transit through casinos
A Toronto advocacy group is pushing to fund transit through the revenue from a local casino.
The Toronto Taxpayers Coalition released a new policy paper on Sunday, which argued a “Transit Funding Trifecta” of “innovative revenue sources” could post a return of up to $400-million each year for the city at no cost to local taxpayers, according to the Toronto Star.
In turn, the group argues a Toronto-centric casino hosting fee and gambling revenue could help the city build a kilometre of an underground subway tunnel — and one subway station — each year.
Of course, much of the Toronto Taxpayers Coalition’s plan, as outlined in the policy paper, involves city council voting in favour of a casino in April.

A Hillary Clinton Biopic?
Paging Amy Poehler.. The story of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is headed for the big screen, according to Politico.
The former First Lady and selfie-photo expert is reportedly the subject of a new biopic from a South Korean screenwriter, and is titled ‘Rodham.’ The film’s script has already earned high accolades in Hollywood, clinching the number four spot on the Black List, a top list of buzzworthy unproduced screenplays.
Young Il Kim, the screenwriter, told Politico the film will mostly revolve around the politician’s young life, and the “journey of a woman who was torn between her personal desires and her professional ambition.”
But, the project also involves moments of light-hearted brevity. The Huffington Post reports a scene involves Clinton singing to Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” while getting ready.
If that is the case, if Poehler’s not available, may we suggest a Kate Hudson cameo for that particular musical performance?
