Yikes. Two Vancouver elementary schools discovered a human hand and foot in the mail on Tuesday, triggering fears of a Luka Rocco Magnotta copycat.
The body parts arrived at two schools, around an hour apart. One was delivered to a luxe private school for boys in the west end, and the other was sent to a waterfront public school near Vancouver’s Granville Island.
In an effort to quell suspicion, police suggested the deliveries could have possibly been random acts of gore. “There’s no indication that any students and staff have been targeted at either school,” said Vancouver police Deputy Chief Warren Lemcke, on Tuesday afternoon.
A Chris Bosh-related Death
Image: losthatsportsblog.comA masseuse has died after collapsing in the South Florida home of former Toronto Raptor, Chris Bosh, on Monday.
Police have not found any signs of foul play in the incident, and Bosh said she appeared well and was in “good spirits” when she arrived at his home. Once unconscious, fire rescue workers helped transport the unconscious woman, whose name has not yet been released, to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead on Monday night.
Miami police will be conducting a formal death investigation about the unfortunate incident. Bosh, who plays for the Miami Heat, will face the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, in Boston, for Game Six of the NBA East Conference Finals.
Disney to Stop Showing Junk Food ads on Television, Radio, Web
Michelle Obama must be happy about this one; The Walt Disney Company announced plans to ban, or limit, junk food advertisements from their television channels, radio stations and websites meant for children on Tuesday.
The iconic, child-friendly animated characters, will be packaged with advertisements to promote healthy-eating habits amongst children, and candy or lesser-nutritional commercials will soon be off limits. Disney also aims to increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables sold at its U.S. theme parks, and using memorable cartoon, or human, personalities to record public service announcements to get their young audience moving.
This plan, hardly a cost-saving venture, is an initiative Disney says is well worth it.
