Gardiner To Reopen Two Ramps; Blue Jays Manager To Red Sox?; Matthew Fox = Mitt Romney + Dockers? Your Morning Cable

Gardiner To Reopen Two Ramps

The Gardiner is back! Two ramps are scheduled reopen on the Gardiner Expressway on Sunday, after being closed for around six weeks for repair work.

680 News writes the Bay Street ramp to the eastbound Gardiner Expressway, and the eastbound Gardiner Expressway ramp to Jarvis Street will be the two freshly-available commuter pathways. This news comes the same day as an outside engineering firm report, which called the Gardiner a “significant hazard to public safety,” due, in part, to crumbling concrete.

“There is a possibility if weather cooperates, we might be able to get them open sooner, but we basically completed the reconstruction … and repaired the road surfaces on the ramp,” Myles Currie, a director with Toronto Transportation Services said, to 680 News.

But don’t call it a comeback. On Saturday, the eastbound collector lanes from Wickman to Park Lawn roads are scheduled to be closed for maintenance from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Blue Jays Manager To Red Sox?

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Farrell may be moving to the Boston Red Sox.

Farrell, who has one year remaining on his three-year deal with the blue birds, has reportedly been interviewing for a position with Boston. According to the Boston Globe, the teams are “beyond preliminary stage of compensation talks for Farrell.” The Red Sox are shopping for new management after telling their skipper, Bobby Valentine, to hit the road following the team’s worst season in recent memory.

In his two years as the Blue Jays’ manager, Farrell has a record of 154-170. As for his possible replacement, the Toronto Sun speculates Sandy Alomar Jr., who was one of the managerial runners-up when Farrell was hired, could be released from his coaching contract with the Cleveland Indians and join the Jays.

Matthew Fox = Mitt Romney + Dockers?

Matthew Fox showed his softer side on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night — in a Mitt Romney parody video. Fox, promoting his latest film Alex Cross, showed a trailer for his latest Lifetime movie about the life of the GOP candidate, entitled Mitt Romney and the Dockers of Destiny.

Ah, the love between a man and his favourite pair of Dockers. The Lost star has been on an image-rebuilding press tour, in response to his party bus DUI, and alleged mistreatment of women. Of course, the best way to tackle this image problem is to show that romantic love knows no bounds, particularly when khaki, cotton pants are involved. Swoon.
