Arrest made in Bloor-Christie sexual assaults

UPDATE: A 15-year-old male has been charged in connection to more than 12 sexual assaults that occurred in the Christie Pits area since August. According to CP24, police Chief Bill Blair said the suspect was arrested late Saturday, after a woman was sexually assaulted near Bloor Street West and Roxton Road.

Toronto police have arrested a man connected to the series of sexual assaults in the Christie Pits area, and will announce further details on Monday at 10 a.m.

The sexual assaults date back to August, and more than a dozen were reported. As a result, the police increased its number of patrols around the Bloor and Christie Streets area.

CityNews reports the “major” announcement about the investigation is expected to begin at 10 a.m. Monday, at a morning news conference.

Globe and Mail launches paywall

The Globe and Mail paywall for digital content launches on Monday, but how will it change how you read your news?

Non-subscribers have an allotment of 10 free stories a month, but will have to pay if they want to read more than that. “Globe Unlimited,” the paywall service, will cost 99 cents for the first month of use, and $19.99 a month thereafter. Existing five or six days-a-week subscribers will have unlimited access to the site, but will still need to register online for free.

Partly inspired by The New York Times‘ paywall, this new structure pays for digital journalism. Links accessed through social media, or landing pages, will not count towards the free monthly total.

Relax. It will all make sense soon. For more information, check out the “Globe Unlimited” FAQ here. Do not worry, it will not count towards your 10 free stories.

Pippa on her famous bottom

Scene-stealer Pippa Middleton has finally written about her famous bottom, calling the attention “strange.”

In her first book, Celebrate: A Year of British Festivities for Families and Friends, Middleton writes about party planning, but gets cheeky about her derriere, which made its prominent debut at the 2011 Royal Wedding.

“It’s a bit startling to achieve global recognition (if that’s the right word) before the age of thirty, on account of your sister, your brother-in-law and your bottom,” writes Middleton. “One day I might be able to make sense of this. In the meantime I think it’s fair to say that it has its upside and its downside.”

Indeed. The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister’s book will be available on Oct. 25, or Oct. 30, depending on the market. It sounds like a splendid read, well worthy of its rumoured Â£400,000 advance.
