RBC Seeks Artists For Canadian Painting Competition

The annual RBC Canadian Painting Competition is on again, and their seeking a new artist for their $25,000 prize

RBC and the Canadian Art Foundation just announced open calls for their 2013 Canadian Painting Competition. This is the 15th anniversary of the competition, and the largest of it’s kind in Canada, with a whopping $115,000 in prizes. Entries must be submitted by May 1, 2013. The National Winner and two Honourable Mentions will each receive a purchase prize of $25,000 and $15,000 respectively and the other 12 finalists will each be awarded $5,000 in recognition of the 15th anniversary. The winners will be announced in Ottawa at the National Gallery on October 2, 2013, determined by a panel of regional judges. Last year’s winner was Vanessa Maltese, with an oil painting you can see here, along with all the other winners since 2009.
