Bicyclists rejoice, for your hard-earned tax dollars are going towards something you actually want! Mayor Rob Ford was on hand as the city’s first dedicated bike lanes were just opened today on Sherbourne, and are part of a slew of $4.1 million upgrades along the street. The Sherbourne lanes are the first of a square of planned bike lanes on Wellesley St., Richmond St. or and Adelaide St. As of yet, Council can’t decide on the west-side north-south lane hasn’t been decided on at all because according to public works chairman Denzil Minnan-Wong, “There’s been opposition to it on a number of angles, especially on council.”
