Speculation about the plot of Star Wars 7 began long before Disney ever stepped in. But since the company’s purchase of LucasFilm was announced earlier this week, fans have begun to worry that the next death star may be shaped more like a death mouse–among other changes.
Unfortunately, the house of mouse has done nothing to ease fears other than offer this sentiment: sources at LucasFilm told E! Online that the plot for the upcoming film will be, “an original story.”
This news does however, cancel out the current theories that the seventh film would begin the story from the Thrawn Trilogy, written by Timothy Zahn.
Instead, E! says that the movie will be a completely new story that cannot be found in any of the Star Wars graphic novels, series or spin-offs to date.
As of now, a director has not been assigned to the film.
The film is set to debut in 2015.
